StreetPass NYC Celebrates New York Comic Con with Nintendo Panel, Pokemon X & Y Launch and More

Oct. 8, 2013 - NEW YORK -- StreetPass NYC, the largest unofficial Nintendo 3DS fan club in the United States of America is very excited for New York Comic Con 2013 at the Jacob Javits Center on Tuesday, October 10th to Sunday, October 13th. They are upping their participation with various convention activities that will blow all expectations away.

One of the main highlights of New York Comic Con weekend happens on Saturday, October 12th. Four of the largest Nintendo fan communities in the NY Metro Region: StreetPass NYC, StreetPass Long Island, Pokemon DS NYC and the Official NYC Pokemon Castelia League invite all Nintendo and Pokemon Fans to attend their panel "Nintendo Communities: StreetPass, Pokemon and Beyond!". StreetPass NYC, StreetPass Long Island & Pokemon DS NYC will also be at the Nintendo World Store in New York the day before their panel as well. On Friday, October 11th, the Nintendo World Store will be hosting an exciting Pokémon X and Pokémon Y launch event to celebrate the release of the new Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games (for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems including the new Nintendo 2DS system).

At the event fans will have the chance to play the games, participate in fun activities and be among the first people in the country to purchase Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Game sales will commence at midnight, and the Nintendo World Store will remain open through out the night.

The event will also feature a DJ playing music, Pokémon trivia, game-play kiosks featuring Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, Pikachu costumed character appearances, a Pokémon costume showcase that will encourage fans dressed as their favorite characters from the Pokémon games to display their clever costumes on stage and more. Attendees will also be able to receive Pokémon giveaways while supplies last.

StreetPass NYC will be hanging out at the Nintendo Booth (Booth #1436) all 4 days of the convention to play upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games (i.e. Super Mario 3D World, Sonic Lost World, Bayonetta 2, Pokemon X & Pokemon Y, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and more). The Nintendo booth will also host the Nintendo World Store where visitors can purchase select Nintendo software, hardware, apparel and merchandise. You can also catch StreetPass NYC at the Nintendo Lounge (Room #1E02) where they will be competing in classic Virtual Console games as well as various Nintendo eShop titles (i.e. Q.U.B.E., Shovel Knight, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, SteamWorld Dig, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies and more!).

For fans who want to collect StreetPass Tags there will be 2 meet ups on Saturday and Sunday respectively they can attend. The first is a FREE Meet Up (no New York Comic Con Badge necessary) around the impressive Wind Waker Windfall Island Sandcastle in the Javits Center Inner Roadway on October 12th from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. The other is the Kid Day Meet Up (New York Comic Con SundayAccess Required) in the Kids Day Family Room #1B02 on October 13th from 3:15 PM to 4:00 PM where they will be posing in front of an animatronic dinosaur!
