Super Mario Bros is one thing but Super Mario RPG?

Seeing this felt kinda... surreal?

Let me broad my statement. It's my favorite game ever, and while it doesn't have a Shakespearan type of storytelling I argue this game has one of the biggest replay values of all time, yeah multiplayer may have more but as a single player campaign I think you can replay this game more than any other RPG over and over and not get tired of it. I don't know it just is very magical, charming and an RPG with several other gameplay styles that flow well and don't feel tacked on like in other Mario RPGs.

Also FFVI had pacing issues after the floating island, and even if it was because of story reasons... pacing dead stop a bit after that event.

@Vonter
the problem with calling it the best game ever is it's not even the best mario rpg.

The other mario rpgs had deep plots with tons of humor,and way more replayabilty.
not to mention super mario rpg felt too much like final fantasy 1-3 and not a unique series.

I don't know, aside from Bowser Inside Story the other Mario RPG games were very predictable and very familiar, or in the case of Super Paper Mario a bit text heavy.

Even if it's derivative of Final Fantasy the game was a good crossover of Nintendo and Square ideas, in that sense I think it's most unique. Also it added many new things that are only part of that game. And even if it's a bit nitpicky seeing attacks doing 999 damage and then going to no more than 100 takes something out, IMO, as not being as intense.

Finally and it's not a complain, I honestly didn't get the appeal of The Thousand Year Door, it was fine but I thought it was bloated, and also nitpicky but the music was a bit yawn inducing.

Yeah sorry, I usually think only in opinions in comment sections. I suppose that's why all ends in sales facts, since qualitative attributes are different from one person to the other.

Like saying if an art style is better than the other, which isn't the same as saying, which one more effectively sells the game/movie/product.

I'm happy to see my favorite SNES title of all time get anniversary recognition.
