More Details on Hyrule Warriors

Heat Man Was kind enough to send in a translation of some more information he found on Hyrule Warriors (presumably from Famitsu)you can read the details below:

Package price of \7,980, DL price \6,980. Also a premium box for \11,644.

The premium box contains a Tri Force shaped tabletop clock, and six serial codes for special costumes.

Two players can play simultaneously, one playing off the TV and the other playing off the game pad. During single play, the game pad is used as a sub menu.

The play style evolves with the ability to set your character with various weapons, such as the speed focused sword and damage focused heavy weapons.

The game has a weapon strengthening system and elements of character growth.

Uses the action style of Dynasty Warriors as a base, and adds the Z-targeting from the Zelda games. Skillful play makes avoiding attacks and aiming for enemy weak points simple.

The Zelda series's familiar spin attack is replaced with the Musou attack from Dynasty Warriors.

The bomb returns. It sounds as though its use isn't limited to chucking at enemies.

Impa, a newly appointed captain of the Hyrule army, is confirmed as a playable character. She uses a giant sword.

Besides Link and Impa, the game is expected to have a number of other playable characters. Aonuma is even noted commenting on the great number of characters planned.

The game will be playable at E3.

Current development progress is 70% complete.

I am so psyched for this title - maybe even more than MK8.

Wonderful. This game does sound pretty awesome so far. ^^ Not a huge fan of Impa, but the more playable characters the better.

Dude, I don't care what anybody says, and I'm not even a MASSIVE Warriors series fan, but this game sounds better and better.

What other characters could they have planned?

I've seen a lot of Tingle and Groose posts, but I don't think they fit too well with the art and gameplay. Maybe Midna in her true form and some of the sages?

I'm interested in the gameplay of this (since it's a spin-off I'm fine with it having radically differant gameplay), the only thing I'm worried about is their respect for the IP, I don't want a Zelda Other M if you know what I mean :|

This isn't team omegas first time handling a crossover ip, they did Gundam, and most of their warriors games are based off history, not too worried

My biggest concern was that "Code for Special costume."

I'm not a fan of that being a "Special edition" bonus.

Otherwise, this game sounds amazing.

special costumes are merely cosmetic, and considering the amount of content that is stuffed into the main game, its usualy not as big an issue. anyways we might get it included due to later release

YAAAAY! I was excited for this game before, but now I'm super excited!

Sounds interesting... I haven't played any of the Warrior games so I couldn't tell if I would like the gameplay though.

I can't speak for everyone but imo maybe this will be like when Super Mario 3D World was first shown. It showed some gameplay looked fun but didn't seem that exciting. Then later when it had more details about the gameplay it started showing a lot of promise then when it was released it was such a superb game! Or at least I hope it ends up the same way. Either way I'm getting pretty psyched for this game. :D

There's plenty, actually, and you could reach into the whole series.

You could have a fighting Zelda, or her in her "Shiek" form even. I'd kinda prefer the classic cartoon/comic archer Zelda though. That was awesome.

But you could have Impa, you could have some of the freedom fighters from TP like Auru, Rusl and Ashei, you could have a Goron and Zora fighter each, hell, you could even dig up some old characters from like Zelda II or Link's Awakening. Who knows?

The multiplayer it's what's definitely sold the game for me!

Online and I'm sold. No online and I'll wait till it drops in price.

good point about the TP characters. had forgotten about them.

For playable characters, it would not be much of a stretch to expect some characters in the vein of Nabooru or Mikau, and as evidenced by the villains, it's possible to have "heavily influenced by" new characters added, too.

However, I may be alone in this, but I think it would be a missed opportunity to not include this guy doing what he can.

edit: also, Moosh for my #1 joke character.

I want that big bruiser you have to meet up with to get him to create a bridge in Zelda II. Bardo or something like that. He's gigantic, and I wants 'im.
