GT.TV Nov. 22nd episode - Reggie interview, DKC:TF details
Coming from Reggie Fils-Aime...
- Wii U is the only console where you can get Nintendo characters alongside big hits like Call of Duty: Ghosts and Assassin's Creed IV
- Reggie says Nintendo games have long legs over time
- Reggie says Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart Wii U and Smash Bros. will be top 10 selling games across the entire generation
- Reggie says it's all about install base
- Reggie says software sells hardware. He brings up the 3DS hardware issue with selling, but Nintendo turned that around. He believes the same could happen with Wii U.
- Reggie hopes Wii U will be the #1 hardware seller in 2014
- Reggie is confident in strong software, including games in development
- the goal is to provide a good environment for third parties. Third parties are driven by large, diverse install base.

- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is coming out in February
- Jelly Jamboree level: level is filled with jelly blobs that bounce you. Enemies bounce on them as well. Features penguin enemies. This is a later level.
- game is made up of 6 islands
- 'Snowmads' have taken over Donkey Kong's island and frozen it. The goal is to take the island back from the Snomads.
- Kong Pow in two-player is a special move. You must fill a meter with 100 bananas, then both players time a button press at the same time to destroy all enemies on screen. Defeated enemies will turn into items, and the items depend on what players you're using.
- Golden hearts give you one extra hit.
- Kong Pows can also be done in single player

- first level back on DK island is called Homecoming Hijinks. Similar to the first level on DKCR, but is now all frozen over. Sometimes you'll jump on platforms of ice, which will then crack and cause things to shift in the environment.
- plucking ability allows you to pull things out of the ground to shift the environment
- enhanced ability to pick up and throw items
- camera work early on in the game shifts around to all sorts of perspectives
- minecart levels take advantage of the camera shifts a lot
