"Since 2011, we always close out the year not with a big spectacular event but with personal quality time with each other and I am very grateful of the Bottleneck Gallery for letting us use their space for our final gathering in 2013", says Jordan White, Founder and Event Organizer of StreetPass NYC. "Our party is a celebration of over two years of Nintendo 3DS games, StreetPasses and community interaction. We already have list of events for early 2014 and we plan to announce those soon after the new years begins."

The event has no entry fee and is an all ages. Food and drink will be provided while supplies last however attendees are welcome to also bring their own food to share with other StreetPass NYC members. There will be at least one HDTV set up with a Wii U for home console multiplayer action in such as Super Mario 3D World, Wii Sports Club, Monster Hunter Ultimate, Rayman Legends, Wii Party U and more. There will also be multiple plugs to charge Nintendo 3DS handheld systems and party attendees will be encouraged to play multiplayer games such as Animal Crossing New Leaf (which will also have a Winter Solstice in-game event), Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, Mario Party Island Tour and more.

StreetPass NYC will also host a Yankee Swap gift exchange. Everyone who participates is required brings in one wrapped gift. (We will only accept gifts that are wrapped/covered to keep the gifts anonymity.) Wrapped gifts will be placed in a central location and the participants will determine the order they will take turns selecting them. For all of the participants, StreetPass NYC will assign them a number randomly to determine who goes first. The person with the first number opens a wrapped gift that isn't their own and opens it for everyone to see. The next person chooses a gift, then opens it, and must decide whether to keep it, or swap it for the first player's gift. Every participant in order gets to select a gift, open it, and decide whether they would like to swap it , or keep it. After all of the gifts are chosen, the person who chose their gift first now has the option to swap or keep the gift, and the game is over.

The price range for the wrapped gifts are between $15 minimum and $30 maximum. Gifts that are excluded from the Yankee Swap are T-shirts and Gift Cards of any kind (this includes Nintendo eShop Cards).
