Soooooo cold here in NJ! It's not anywhere near as bad as Detroit, though. I'm going to try warming up by getting some rest. See you in a few, short hours!

We've heard from Renegade Kid and GameXplain, but now it's time to hear from someone else! It's no secret that I'm a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE WayForward fan, and most of the gang over there loves the Big N to death. I had to reach out to the gang for a feature, and WayForward's Jeff Luke was more than happy to share some wonderful thoughts.

The following comes from WayForward's Jeff Luke.

I was approached by RMC to provide some Nintendo love as he knew I am a HUGE Nintendo fan. The moment he asked me, SO many good thoughts blasted into my mind. I've been alive for 29 years and 27 of those I've been playing Nintendo games.

Experiencing the terrifying and lonely world of Zebes for the first time or going on adventure with a young boy named Link, there are SO many great memories in my life that started with Nintendo.

If I had to focus on one experience that really has stuck with me through the years and inspired many of my design decisions since, it would have to be Super Metroid.

Super Metroid is in my opinion one of the greatest designed games ever. There's never a dull moment in the game as you are constantly either collecting a new thing or experiencing a new area.

The game still has the same feeling of being asbolutely alone in an alien world as the original game, but with amazing new detail to the world you once experienced. The music supports every beat of the game perfectly and is easily one of the best video game soundtracks ever created.

One thing that still impresses me today is how well they guided the player without the player really realizing it. They were constantly blocking your path only to guide you to a new powerup that you would use where your path was blocked. Yet, to the player, it seemed like it was just naturally part of the world and that you were the one making these incredible discoveries all by yourself.

To this day, people are still discovering secrets buried deep in the world of Zebes. I can only hope to one day make a game that has such a lasting impact on peoples lives!

So, with that, I say a big Thank You to Nintendo for providing hours of entertainment in my childhood and inspiring me to make video games.
