The Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, New York has teamed with Japan's Ritsumeikan University and former Nintendo hardware designer Masayuki Uemara, all in the name of better preserving video game history. The collaboration aims to not only showcase some of gaming's best offerings over the years, but also to find a better way for the industry to take care of its history.

"This partnership allows researchers and scholars in both the United States and Japan to learn from one another about how best to study and preserve the many contributions video games have had to our shared cultural heritage. Together, we can also help tell the story of the Japanese video game industry to guests of The Strong." - Masayuki Uemara

Part of this collaboration includes an NES historical exhibit for the system's 30th anniversary. The exhibit will showcase physical artifacts, playable games and interviews with Uemara himself.
