PRINCESS RETURNS. Also Survivalist, Protector, and War Magus. Dunno what fifth guy's deal is.

It's got a new story mode and everything?! Oh my god. Happy. So happy.

Also, let me just say, non-confrontationally, how and why are we still waiting for news on Devil Survivor 2: Break Code? I'm beginning to worry it's dead.

very interesting; would've liked EO V but they're fresh off Persona Q so I guess I can let it slide. I still miss EO IV's overworld though

Did they modify it so you can use floor jump on the floors you complete, like they had in Millennial girl?? I don't think I could ever play an EO game again where I had to backtrack by hand all those floors. Atlus has spoiled me.

I dunno. Something doesn't quite click with me the way EOU did when it was revealed. But I guess that's due to saturation and/or me just not feeling that EO2/EO3 have aged that bad yet. Remastering EO1 made much more sense at that time, since it pretty much already felt antiquated by the time EO2 came out. Other than that, if I remember my experience with it correctly, EO2 probably had both the weakest story (or rather, scenario) and the weakest soundtrack of the series. Thus I'm not too psyched about remixes of the latter, the former might do well with some actual story though.

With all the upcoming releases though, I probably won't salivate that badly for a fast localization of this game. Probably.

I'm still smiling about the people who totally sperged out over floor jumping, Easy Mode, etc being introduced to the series, because "Ma hardcore JRPGS!". Good question whether there will be floor jumping though. With all the sidestepping of this franchise there's got to be one feature or another you'll always feel it is missing.

Hopefully they learn from the mistakes in EOU and improve that. Like Story Mode was stupid, if they want to keep it in fine, but don't do Story Mode exclusive items, classes, and bosses. Also hope they fix the main problem with EO2 (No fucking FOE EXP)

And lastly, hope they have an option to disable map jumping. It was stupid and ruins my mapmaking.

Granted that opinions are opinions and EOU was a massive update to a "classic" I'd deem close to unplayable at this point, I'm still baffled at the hostility some people feel towards EOUs story mode, when it was literally the game's unique selling point. Aside from the fact that story mode actually worked really well for the Yggdrasil plot, including Yggdrasil's Core. And that people who dismissed Story Mode entirely missed out on what is probably the best track in the series til now, next to all versions of "The End of the Raging Waves".

The only, albeit pretty massive, f*ckup with Story Mode is that Atlus didn't spend the game a second save slot, so that there was no way to start Classic Mode without overwriting your save from Story Mode and vice versa.

Well Story mode was mainly disliked because the story itself was filled with spoilers for the original Etrian Odyssey thrown at you in the first few minutes. Also the whole 'You must use this party' really defeats a ton of fun of Etrian Odyssey, which is team building and imagination. At least it's optional, but the whole 'Exclusive content just for story mode' in a remake is a joke. If EO2's classic mode doesn't let you use Princess, it'll just be a spit in the face.

why does that link not take you to battlefield that never sleeps

literally the only reason i kept trying to beat (and eventually did) the superboss on expert was that music

I'd actually be 100% sure it won't, for the same reasons Highlander and Gunner stayed Story-exclusive in EOU.
While Highlander was unique to the protagonist to begin with (count on it, it'll be the same in EOII, with that demon-form or whatever the protag is able to pull), EOU buffed the Gunner to a pretty broken super-class, so that it was viable in the team you where forced to play with and improved on pretty much every ability the Gunner had/has in the original EOII.

Considering the Prince/Princess class was barely able to stand on its own feet in a game that later introduced sub-classing, you can bet that it will see a huge buff and a skillset different from its EOIII original, so that it becomes viable in a game that almost certainly won't feature sub-classes yet. Which in return makes it pretty unlikely that the Princess will be invited to Classic Mode, which ought to mimic EOII's original balancing (plus maybe Grimoire stones, or whatever we'll see in the remaster).

@Iridium077
While it's a great track, I'll fully admit I consider it a bit too upbeat for my tastes in the scenario it's playing. Even though it's a nice "farewell gift" from EOU to everyone who never managed to beat EO1's super boss.
