Dragon Quest VIII - new details, reasoning for lack of 3D explained

GN Version 5.0

- visible encounters, rather than random ones
- maps are on the bottom screen
- areas are indicated with markers
- touch the icons to see their names
- fields won’t support stereoscopic 3D because this would use up double the memory
- it would have been tough to add the visible encounters and the vast distances with 3D implemented
- new blue treasure chests will respawn over time, and they’ll contain things like gold
- new monsters like the “Slime Pudding”
- voiced scenes in all the events
