GN Version 5.0

It's been a rough few days for Nintendo fans. We've been faced with a tragedy unlike any other in the company's history. Nintendo has lost not only their president, but a key figure for fans around the world. Mr. Iwata was instantly recognizable to any hardcore fan out there. Nintendo's figureheads became more than names on the back of boxes and in game credits. They became faces, personalities and living, breathing embodiments of what Nintendo stands for.

Mr. Iwata's passing has certainly been sad, but Nintendo fans have turned the man's passing into something beautiful. I would certainly imagine that Mr. Iwata wouldn't want everyone dwelling on his death and spending time being sad. While there's no avoiding the tears and empty feeling, fans have still managed to pull together and honor the man that ran Nintendo. Nintendo fans have come together to show just how much we love and appreciate all Iwata did.

The sheer amount of content out there is absolutely beautiful. We've seen compilation videos put together to celebrate Iwata's career. There have been thousands of tweets about Iwata and they just keep pouring in. Talented artists have created amazing tributes that span from realism to cartoony and everything inbetween. There have even been musical pieces to celebrate Iwata and all that he worked on. It's been absolutely amazing to see.

All of this content...all of this reaction just goes to show how important Mr. Iwata was. It also shows just how caring and kind the Nintendo collective can be. I've always been proud to be a Nintendo fan, but these past few days have given me a sense of pride above what I already had. It's been an honor to share your tributes and to discuss Mr. Iwata's passing. A sad happening has paved the way for a wonderful showing of love and kindness. You guys and gals really are top-notch people that I'm proud to be among the ranks of.
