- various difficulty settings to choose from
- drops and enemies change depending on your choice
- gameplay asks you to defeat all the enemies, collect the loot if you are able to, and get your team completely at the exit
- levels have an exit you have to make it to, rather than returning to where you came in

- loot can be skipped, but all enemies must be destroyed
- every characte can only move a set amount of steps
- if your steps remain within a certain buffer area, you are able to fire at your opponents

- some guns only shoot one strong bullet, while others shoot three weaker ones
- Piper has a gun with reticle right from the start
- you can bounce shots from walls
- Healing Oil is used to recover a robot's hit points
- the hats that various characters wear are a status symbol and also give stats and abilities
- individual crew members will also level up
- unlock new abilities as you move along
- Piper can use a Power Shot right from the get go, which allows her to fire a powerful shot once in a while
- Seabrass can use Payback which charges him up when he takes damage, increasing the damage he deals by 50%
- map screen lets you hop to every mission almost instantly
- purchase items and get new recruits at bars
- recruits only join if you have reached a certain level
- these characters become unusable if you lose them in battle
- story is told through in-game dialogue and animated screens
