GoNintendo 'End of Day' thought - What game do you know like the back of your hand?

Man, I can't believe it's the end of the year. Where the hell did the time go?! I mean, I know I say that every year, but it also seems like time speeds up each year around. Getting old is a scary thing! I sure hope 2016 keeps a slow and steady pace! See you in a few, short hours.

I've played so many games that I can't even keep track of them all. I know there are games I've played that I've completely forgotten about. It'd take some footage of that game or someone talking about it to jog my memory. Doesn't mean the games I've forgotten are bad by any means, but they just didn't have a special something to keep them stored in my head. They're up there, but someone else has to come in and dig them out.

On the flip-side, there are certain games that I will never ever forget. These are titles that I played that really meant something to me. Maybe they had a truly memorable soundtrack, or perhaps there were specific levels that really stuck out to me. Sometimes there's games that you play at certain points in your life that marry into a memory you'll never lose. For example, I'll always forget the time I spent with the original Boktai, as I played that out on the roof of my local college during breaks. What an awesome experience that was!

Then deeper still, there are games that you've played so many times that you know absolutely everything there is about them. Every hidden block is burned into your memory forever. All the enemy placements are stuck inside your head and they come pouring out as soon as you fire the game up. These are the games you've played more than any other and you know them from beginning to end.

I have a short list of titles that fall into this category. Mega Man 2 is definitely one of those games, with everything about it forever taking up space in my head. Legend of the Mystical Ninja is another. I rented that game so many times from our local rental shop...and paid tons of overdue fines hanging onto it each time. While these are games I know every aspect of and have played a million times, I can still fire them up and enjoy them like it's the first time I've played.

Those are my picks, but what are yours? What games do you have an intimate knowledge of that never seems to leave your mind? Leave a comment and let us know!
