GN Version 5.0

Fire Emblem Fates review incoming tomorrow! We'll be sure to have our review up for you guys/gals to check out. As a matter of fact, I have to do some more work on that right now! I'll tackle that and you get some sleep for me. See you in a few, short hours!

Being a Nintendo fan can be quite tough sometimes. There are certain things you have to accept. One of those is the drip-feed of information that Nintendo disseminates. There's a lot of waiting for new info on all sorts of projects. Sometimes we wait forever and then get a blast of information all at once. Other times we hear a tiny tidbit and then go months, if not years until we hear more. That's just the way it works with Nintendo. They keep us in the dark with a lot of stuff, but give us the bare minimum to let us know that things exist.

For a long time, that is how things were with both My Nintendo and Miitomo. We learned about those initiatives from Nintendo investor briefings, and we rarely got to hear any other mentions of them outside of those events. Nintendo would only reiterate what was said in the last meeting, and then we'd have to wait for another quarterly report to learn more details. Or perhaps I should say, HOPEFULLY learn more info. Sometimes fans have trouble believing that these ideas actually exist within Nintendo's walls!

Then there are days like today. Days where things we've been tantalized with are finally realized. We finally got a big one-two punch with the launch of Nintendo Accounts and the Miitomo official website. Sure, there may not be much to do with Nintendo Accounts right now, but at least we can finally sign up! The same goes for Miitomo, as we're only getting to pre-register for a March launch, but at least we get a real look at what promotion in the states is going to look like. These two topics of discussion have gone from nebulous to verified and coming soon.

We're not using Nintendo counts and we're not 'playing' Miitomo, but now we can see that they're soon to be pushed in a big way. Nintendo Accounts are going to be a major aspect for Nintendo. They're going to tie into 3DS, Wii U, NX, mobile and more. They're going to be THE way for Nintendo fans to connect and keep their stuff together in one place. Miitomo is actually going to be on our phones in March, and now we know more info is legitimately coming soon. These are big, big elements of Nintendo's future. This is the first in a long line of moves that are showing us the plans Nintendo has to get back in top gear.

I don't know about you, but I can't help myself. I'm pretty damn excited!
