Say it ain't so - No Kirby game in development for Wii

If you have been a long-time reader of GoNintendo, you know that I’ve been keeping tabs on the long-lost Kirby game from GameCube. I’ve had multiple people at Nintendo tell me that the game wasn’t dead, but no one knew what exactly was going on with it. Well, a sad bit of news has crossed our way. That delicious Kirby platformer from the Cube days apparently doesn’t exisit anymore.

Reader Adam sent in a bit that comes from the latest Official Nintendo Magazine (UK). They have an ‘Ask Nintendo’ section where readers get to send in any questions they have, and Nintendo will answer (or dance around) your inquiry. One reader asked about Kirby and the Wii, and the answer can be found below.

There are no plans right now for a Kirby game on Wii but there are plenty of Kirby fans out there, so in the meantime look out for Kirby in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl which will be released in 2008.

Looks like that was a Cube project that was just swallowed up by the walls of Nintendo.
