Is the Wii a 'viable platform' for M-rated games?

This is a question I honestly don’t know the answer to. Mature games have hit Nintendo’s platform, and they haven’t really sold well. No More Heroes is getting a sequel, but the first game sold moderately well. It may have been Suda’s best-selling game, but it’s not anywhere near what big publishers are looking for.

Call of Duty: World at War moved over a million units on the 360. On the Wii, DS, and PS2 combined…the game sold just around 200,000 units. Another Mature game that Wii owners wanted nothing from.

Manhunt 2 is about as mature as you can get, when you consider blood, guts, cussing and so on. Still, that game bombed big time. Was that due to the content, or the censoring of it?

Now, Take-Two is thinking that the Wii might be a good place for a select few of their franchises. They believe that Mature content can work on the Wii. I don’t know that it can…what do you think?
