GN Version 5.0

This time, the lead level designer of Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe, Yuki Endo, will share a few things with us.

"Hello! I was in charge of designing and creating the levels for Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe.

There are seven brand-new levels in this game, and as you progress through them you'll unlock a set of secret levels as well. These secret levels, transformed with tricky obstacles and an increased level of challenge, make for a total of 14 levels when added to the normal levels. That should be plenty for you to sink your teeth into!

Anyway, today, I'd like to talk about King Dedede's simplest, most basic move: his jump.

King Dedede bounces on the drums automatically. Press the A Button right as he lands on a drum, and he'll do a High Jump, which is about medium height. If you again press the A Button as he lands the High Jump, he'll do a Super Jump, reaching maximum height. To continue doing Super Jumps from then on, simply keep pressing the A Button every time he lands subsequently. You'll need to use all three of these jumps to collect all the coins and reach the goal drum.

One thing to keep in mind: you can't do a High Jump right after you do a Super Jump. Instead, you'll first have to do a normal jump, and then push the A Button when you land to do a High Jump. It sounds complicated, but you'll get the hang of it once you try it out in the game. Have fun tackling all the stages!"

It can be a bit of a challenge to do chains of Super Jumps when you first start - it might be better to get a bit of practice with normal jumps, to begin with!
