Yooka-Laylee's toughest content is optional

Looking for a real challenge in Yooka-Laylee? You can access some really tough platforming sections in the game, but they're completely optional. You'll need to use Pagies to unearth the content, but it's not necessary to make your way through the game to the end.

‘It’s all still just an option. It’s up to players. If they want to turn it into this mammoth environment, which is almost a puzzle unto itself, they can do it. That’s where the most difficult content will be though, so maybe some people won’t want to.
