GoNintendo 'End of Day' thought - Your Pokemon GO impressions

I think I'm going to have to record the podcast today. My schedule is ALL kinds of screwed up and I don't think I can make a Friday show happen. I know I can't do the regular Saturday show. One way or another, the show will get done! If it happens today, I'll be sure to give you a heads up for joining live! See you in a few, short hours.

While Nintendo usually gives us concrete release dates, they sometimes like to spring a game on us out of nowhere. That's usually reserved for smaller eShop titles, but this time Nintendo, Pokemon Co. and Niantic just decided to unleash Pokemon GO out of nowhere. We had an idea that the game was coming out in July, but had no specific date to look forward to. Now the game is currently making its way around the world, with the U.S. getting access just a few hours ago.

There has been extensive coverage of the Pokemon GO beta, with both some positive and negative things being discussed. I mean, that's how things go when you talk about any game, but Pokemon GO is such a vast departure for the franchise that it's sure to be a bit divisive. Fans are going to pick apart the game in coming weeks and you can bet there will be changes, but the good news is that we can all now finally experience what Niantic has been talking about for over a year.

I honestly haven't had much time at all to play the game. I only downloaded it about an hour ago, and right now isn't the best time to wander outside and catch some Pokemon. I can see some Pokemon just waiting to become mine, but they're currently sitting across the highway! Other than that, the area is kind of barren. That actually makes me want to get out there and explore to see what I can find!

While I wait for a better chance to get out there and collect some Pokemon, I'd love to hear how things have been going for you guys and girls. How much time have you put into the game and what do you think of it so far? What's the best Pokemon you've captured out there in the wild? Do you think Pokemon GO is going to hold your attention moreso than Miitomo has? Leave a comment and let us know!
