GN Version 5.0

The following information comes from an informal investigation by New York Senators Jeffrey D. Klein and Diane J. Savino...

- took a list of 100 registered sex offenders across New York City and compared it PokeStops/Gyms
- in 59 cases, those locations were within half a block of offenders’ homes
- staff members who played the game for two weeks also found 57 Pokémon near the offenders’ homes
- the two senators will propose two pieces of legislation scheduled to be introduced next week
- the first would prevent moderate or high-risk sex offenders from playing augmented-reality games
- the second would require game creators to cross-reference lists of offenders’ homes and remove in-game activities from within 100 feet of those locations
