@mock turtle

In two words... Why not?

Oh, right, because it's a horrible, buggy botch of nature. I forgot.

The Duck Has Spoken.

The gameplay and throwing animations are taken straight from Chip n' Dale's Rescue Rangers on NES. What an odd choice on which to base a Mario game.

The title screen reminded me of The Brady Bunch. :D I feel bad for people that will fall for this... kinda.

Did the person who made this even know what a Mario game plays like?

If you're a Mario fan, you're not missing much from this game unless you want to hear the Overworld theme on a YM2612 (read: Genesis) soundchip of course.

beigean's right about the gameplay being a modified version of Chip and Dale. Mario and Luigi stripped of their Jumping powers and reduced to hucking boxes as a natural defense mechanism. Getting a Fire Flower is just unlimited boxes painted like Fireballs.

@beigean

I knew that's where they got those animations. Chip n Dale pulls this system off much better.

Does Mario shoot fireballs just because he can?

Also yeah, the throwing animations look to be from Rescue Rangers... He also seems to be avoiding stomping on goombas so I guess the hack doesn't allow it.

This looks pretty bland gameplaywise.
