Harmonix explains why Rock Band never made it to Japan
The following information comes from Harmonix Music Systems' boss Alex Rigopulos...
- licensing songs and instruments was tough
- Japanese gamers tend to be quieter at home
- there's not as much space in Japanese homes to work with
- there was a plan to release the game in Japanese arcades or even in Japanese karaoke parlors
- arcades were too noisy and karaoke parlors also weren't ideal
