SAN JOSE, Calif., (November 23, 2011) – Leading video games publisher NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., today announced that Saban’s Power Rangers Samurai™ will be featured on a float at the 123rd Annual Tournament of Roses® Parade in Pasadena, California on Jan. 2, 2012. To celebrate the release of Saban’s Power Rangers Samurai videogame on Wii™ and Nintendo DS™, the float will feature the Samurai Power rangers themselves and their mighty Zords, including the Yellow Ape, Blue Dragon, Red Lion and the towering Megazord, which stands at 35 feet. The float embodies the spirit of teamwork and friendship that is central to the hugely popular Power Rangers Brand.

In the 2011 Rose Parade®, NAMCO BANDAI Games took home the Judges’ Special Trophy for outstanding showmanship and dramatic impact with their float showcasing “Pac-Man’s 30th Anniversary Party”. This year, NAMCO BANDAI Games will present “Saban’s Power Rangers Samurai The Video Game” in an effort to once-again celebrate fun-filled entertainment for all ages in the biggest way possible. The float contains a platform, which will hold all six of the beloved Power Rangers Samurai characters and will be surrounded by their mighty Zords all decorated using carefully chosen floral arrangements. The entire float culminates in the giant MegaZord, a colossal robotic samurai that is formed when all six Power Rangers combine their Zords and powers.

“The Power Rangers have always provided an exciting and action-packed adventure for kids of all ages, which is why it’s an honor to have them take part in the Tournament of Roses Parade, for kids all over the world to enjoy,” said Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing at NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. “We’re happy to honor the spirit of teamwork and friendship with a wonderful float that celebrates this group of heroes.”

“The Tournament of Roses Parade has long been an event that kids have enjoyed for generations, so it’s especially fitting to have the Power Rangers take part in the 123rd Rose Parade,” said Rick Jackson, president of the Tournament of Roses. “The hundreds of kids attending the parade, and the millions of children watching from home, will have the great thrill of seeing their favorite heroes on what promises to be another great celebration.”

Saban’s Power Rangers Samurai video game will allow fans to master the elements of Fire, Water, Sky, Forest, and Earth as they morph into Red, Blue, Pink, Green, Gold or Yellow Rangers. Martial arts training and fitness, combined with team-based battles that teach the importance of team work, friendship, and responsibility, ready players to battle hordes of Nighlok monsters. Players can also access hidden areas within levels and get hints on how to defeat the armies of evil while unlocking new Megazord combinations needed to take down the Nighloks once and for all.
