Mega-Recharge: Is Capcom in the Process of Giving Mega Man an Extra Life?

Mega Man is going to be in Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS...and I still can't get over it. I am a huge, HUGE Mega Man fan. With Capcom giving the Blue Bomber a bit of a cold shoulder in recent years, it now seems like things might be turning around. Could this Smash Bros. appearance indicate a renewed approach to the brand at Capcom?
