GN Version 4.0
Coming from a hands-on session and an interview with Jools Watsham...

- Treasurenauts is meant to be played in a single sitting

“The proper story mode, there’s no saving. There’s soft saving, so as you’re playing the game, you’re collecting stuff, you’re going in and out of the levels and doing stuff, it’s saving all that.”

- includes checkpoints and save points, but progress is deleted whenever you power down
- “training” mode allows you to save progress
- explore a series of levels (on a world map) for treasure
- collect up to $1,000,000 worth
- treasure appears in the form of gems and rings, hidden behind false walls
- treasure can also be hidden behind obstructive foreground scenery
- treasure will be left behind after defeating birds, bats and other monsters
- each level has “three treasure chests, and one magical urn fountain thing that you can whale on to get treasure from.”
- take one hit and all your treasure flies out of you, take a second hit and you're dead
- go in to each level with one of three weapons: a sword, a gun, or bombs
- there are blocks that can only be destroyed by certain weapons
- some areas/content can only be accessed with another player
- bomb is slightly overpowered
- 28 levels
- boss battles, including one with a crab
