Capcom financial results for fiscal year 2022

Record breaking profits for the fifth consecutive year!

Capcom has released their financial results for the fiscal year ending in March 2022. This was another big year for Capcom as they managed to break a new record and achieved the highest profits and net sales for the fifth consecutive year; their profits have been growing for the last nine years as the operating income is up 24% and net income is up 30.6%.

Capcom has sold a total of 32.6 million units during the fiscal year 2022; this is an increase from the fiscal year before it, which achieved 30.1 million units. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin has topped 1.5 million units on all platforms.

Some bullet points to share for the estimations from this fiscal year (ends on March 31st, 2023):

  • Capcom plans to release 45 SKUs this fiscal year; this is double the output they put out during the fiscal year that ended in March 2022.
  • They estimate total sales of 37 million units (The breakdown is 7 million in Japan and 30 million from overseas, 32.5 million of those would be from digital sales, and 4.5 million physical sales) for this fiscal year.
  • Plans to release multiple major new titles.
  • New titles sales are expected to reach 10 million units.
