When E3 2022 was cancelled, event organizers were quick to say that the show would be back in 2023. Now a few weeks later, the ESA has shared further comment on the show’s big return next year.

ESA president Stan Pierre-Louis spoke to the Washington Post about bringing E3 back next year, and confirmed plans for both in-person and digital coverage.

“We’re excited about coming back in 2023 with both a digital and an in-person event. As much as we love these digital events, and as much as they reach people and we want that global reach, we also know that there’s a really strong desire for people to convene — to be able to connect in person and see each other and talk about what makes games great.”

Of course, just because E3 is coming back in 2023 doesn’t mean Nintendo will be a part of it. Hell, we still have no idea if Nintendo has any plans to put together a Direct or any kind of showcase this June! For now, we’ll keep our ear to the ground for details on Nintendo appearing at next year’s big show.

ESA pleads that people don’t forget about E3 in a time where it becomes more and more unnecessary and pointless.
