Sea of Stars, the turn-based RPG inspired by the classics, has been delayed to 2023. This message was shared by the dev team via Twitter.

Developer Sabotage Studio made it clear that they’re not willing to put the team’s well-being aside just to crunch and get Sea of Stars out this year, so they’re pushing the game off to next year in order to maintain a work life and home life balance.

You can read the team’s full message on the delay below.

A Word from the Team

As we are closing in on a very big milestone the road to launch becomes clearer, and we find ourselves here with a large body of text and our logos at the bottom. Keeping in mind our two main priorities—quality of life for our team and quality of the finished game—we can now confirm that Sea of Stars will be released in 2023.

We understand waiting is a big ask, and want to sincerely thank our community for the overwhelming support and positive vibes. In the meantime, we are looking at options to get a playable slice out to everyone this year.

All the love,

Saboteam

I’m not too upset about this. Let the people making the game take care of themselves & not crunch. Besides, there’s tons of games to play in the meantime.
