The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass will give us 6 waves of tracks when all’s said and done. We’ve seen 2 waves of tracks so far, giving us a mix of classics all throughout the franchise’s history. There are still plenty of retro tracks fans want to see return, but how are things shaping up so far? The Digital Foundry gang has shared their thoughts.

In the latest video from Digital Foundry, we get to see a deep dive into the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass from a technical perspective. Fans will have all sorts of opinions of the tracks in general, but a more definitive answer can be given on the technical side of things. If you’re interested in all the close-up details, framerates and other such talk, the above feature is for you.

The new tracks are ABSOLUTELY not as good as the main Mario Kart 8 content. But I am still thrilled to be getting so many new courses, even if they're a bit lower quality.

I don’t have a problem with the course design as they are from older titles and I love hopping back to them.
My main problem is the technical point like lower textures or (especially!) modeling work.
They could have made so much more with them…
