It came and went in the blink of an eye, but the Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere demo was a blast for all involved. Of course, there were some things fans would like to see tweaked and changed as we inch closer to the official launch on Sept. 9th, 2022, and thankfully, Nintendo is listening.

Nintendo took to Twitter to thank fans for giving the Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere a go, but they also made note of improvements to come. In particular, Nintendo said they’ll be working to improve matchmaking, as well as the tricolor Turf War mechanics. Specifics on what to expect weren’t shared, but it’s great to know Nintendo was keeping track of fan feedback.

One of the major points of the Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere was to get fans out there to experience the threequel and offer up suggestions on what can be done better. This demo offered up invaluable input for Nintendo, and we should see a better Splatoon 3 for it.

Maybe it was just the flood of people all trying the free, 1-day only demo, dragging down the network, but it was way laggier for me than Splatoon 2, which I played just a day before.

The tri-color turf war is also terribly balanced. I like the idea of a handicapped match for the two losing teams, but forcing the winning team to play an almost impossible-to-win match every once in a while sn't the answer.

Hope the dev team make thoughtful choices on the data from the demo.
