Splatoon 3 takes #1 spot on weekly UK software charts

We’re still waiting on the weekly UK software charts, but we’ve already gotten word on what’s taken first place. As you probably guessed, Nintendo easily scored another #1 finish thanks to their latest big-name Switch release.

Splatoon 3 has come out ahead of everything else this week, landing at the #1 position in the UK. That said, there are some important things to note for this release. First up, boxed copy sales for Splatoon 3 are down 9% compared to Splatoon 2. That might be a worrying trend, but this figure doesn’t account for digital sales. Without a doubt, digital sales for the Switch in 2022 are higher than what they were for Splatoon 2 in 2017.

The UK charts never included digital sales numbers for Nintendo games, as Nintendo doesn’t report them. That said, we might get lucky and learn physical sales numbers should the GFK share them. Either way, Splatoon 3 secured the #1 spot this week, and that’s cause for celebration!
