There had been some speculation that a new voice actress was handling the role of Bayonetta in Bayonetta 3, and now we have confirmation of that. Game Informer spoke to PlatinumGames and found out that Yusuke Miyata, the previous voice of Bayonetta, couldn’t tackle the role this time around due to “overlapping circumstances.” Filling in for Taylor is Jennifer Hale, who Nintendo fans know as the voice of Samas Aran in Metroid.

“Various overlapping circumstances made it difficult for Hellena Taylor to reprise her role. We held auditions to cast the new voice of Bayonetta and offered the role to Jennifer Hale, whom we felt was a good match for the character. I understand the concerns some fans have about the voice change at this point in the series, but Jennifer’s performance was way beyond what we could have imagined. I’m confident that her portrayal of Bayonetta will exceed our fans’ expectations.”

While Hale’s work might sound slightly different from what we’re used to in Bayonetta, it seems like she’s doing an excellent job. She’s certainly nailed the feeling and vibe that Bayonetta has, and there’s no doubt she’ll carry that throughout the entirety of Bayonetta 3.

Slight error on this post, you typed Yusuke Miyata as Bayonettas previous VA, not Hellen Taylor

Anyway, shame Hellen couldn't reprise the role but Jennifer does a pretty good job. I'm willing to bet I won't notice the difference while playing after a while

I didn’t know Jennifer Hale voiced Samus. She’s best known to me as the voice of Shepard in Mass Effect.

Well, this comes as a bit of a disappointment. Really loved the original voice actress. Hoping it won't be too different.

Will Danny DeVito ever catch a break? 😉

I can see why Hellena Taylor has spoken out about the role of Bayonetta. And this comment from Yusuke Miyata isn't entirely true now it appears.
