The official numbers for the videogame industry in the United States have come in, and it was another hot month. As expected, Splatoon 3 blitzed the charts, but it wasn’t the only Switch game to crack the top 10. You can see the full breakdown for September 2022 below!

Total spending: $4.07 billion, down 4% year-on-year Software: $3.4 billion, down 7% Hardware: $490 million, up 19%

-Total spending: $38.4 billion, down 8% - Software: $33.4 billion, down 9% - Hardware: $3.3 billion, down 1%

Highlights

  • Sales for videogame content were down 7% last month as compared to 2021

Industry as a whole is down year over year. Various factors involved. It’s not terrible though. Only a slight dip.

Saints Row demake is actually selling a bit. And damn people like sports games!

Mostly happy to see Splatoon 3 doing so great. It's the best in the series with ease.
