Nintendo announced today that global sales of the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet have surpassed 10 million combined units in the first three days since their worldwide launch on Nov. 18, 2022. This is the highest global sales level for any software on any Nintendo platform within the first three days.

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are the latest mainline games in the Pokémon series, releasing three years after the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games, also for Nintendo Switch. In these newest titles, which welcome series newcomers and veterans alike, players experience a unique open-world Pokémon adventure for the first time in the franchise.

Players embark on a new style of Pokémon journey, freely exploring at their own pace and tackling multiple main story paths in any order. Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet also offer expanded multiplayer modes, allowing up to four players to travel across the land together. Along with series staples, such as trading and battling Pokémon, players can also explore the various locations of the region together with other players. Whether trading, battling, joining Tera Raid Battles or just having a relaxing picnic, players are sure to make some memorable experiences with their friends and family in local wireless or online multiplayer.

Hopefully it's the fastest patched game in Nintendo history.

Yhe game is really fun and has a lot of heart, but I do hope there are some serious fixes in the works.

Welp. Guess we will see Ultra Scarlet/Violet in a couple of years and it'll have the same problems as the originals. And they will still make bank. :/

I'm reminded of the saying, kids, stay in school in order to be successful. Though, of course that's not ALWAYS true. This here is a case in point, only substitute Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet for kids and development for school.

To those of the 10 million who bought this game and (legitimately)complained about its buginess, ugliness, unfinished state, etc, what do you think The Pokémon Company are going to CONTINUE doing in future after seeing this unprecedented success? Money talks, unless/until people walks.

20 million eyeballs that can see the problems. Or slightly less due to people without two functioning eyes. You get the eyedea--d'oh!--idea.

I look forward to seeing the appeal once the patches are out.

Shame that all this does is send a message to Nintendo and GameFreak that the quality is more than acceptable.
