TIME shares their 'Best Games of 2022' list
What do you think of these picks?
TIME magazine has once again put together a list of games that they consider to be the best of 2022. Sure, there’s still a handful of big-name games due out this year, but TIME apparently feels confident that those titles won’t earn a place on their list.
You can see TIME’s top 10 list below, and as you might expect, it does include some Switch titles. There’s no Nintendo-specific titles on the countdown, but there are a number of titles that you can pick up on Switch right now.
- God of War: Ragnarok
- Horizon: Forbidden West
- The Quarry
- Elden Ring
- Stray
- The Last of Us Part 1
- Sifu
- Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose
- LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge

1+ y agoInteresting to see Sifu on it. Heard about this game and saw some gameplay footage. Will at least put it on my wish list!

1+ y agoAs far as Switch games, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 should be on here. The editor probably either didn’t have time to give it a fair shot or overlooked it as the gaming equivalent of a “genre” film.

1+ y agoNintendo didn't get a look-in. No Xenoblade Chronicles 3, no Bayonetta 3, no Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope(though Ubisoft made it), no Kirby and the Forgotten Land, no Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Those are the Nintendo games of note this year and of those, only Xenoblade Chronicles 3 can maybe feel aggrieved. And you know, they may all be Nintendo published, but none of them were made by Nintendo. At least next year we should get Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and that will make the 2023 list.
