Nintendo has announced that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are getting an update on December 1st, 2022. This will bump the game up to Version 1.1.0. You can see a full rundown of the patch notes for this update below.

  • Season 1 of Ranked Battles will kick off, allowing you to enjoy Ranked Battles through the Battle Stadium.
  • An issue has been fixed that caused the music to not play correctly during the battles with the Elite Four and the Top Champion in the Victory Road path.
  • Other select bug fixes have been made.

Nintendo also included an apology for the bugs/glitches of Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, and have pledged to continue improving the titles. You can see their statement below.

We are aware that players may encounter issues that affect the games’ performance. Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games.

The amount of joy I got from Nintendo acknowledging the path to improvements is probably disproportionate, but it nonetheless made my night.

These games are really something special to me, and the only thing that's stopping me from recommending it to my friends who've asked me is the performance issues.

Hopefully soon enough I'll be able to fully recommend the games without any strings attached. Can't wait.

I’m not 100% how to interpret that statement from Nintendo. Does it mean more performance improvement patches are in the works or does it mean here’s a patch now STFU?

"We take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games."

Working on improvements seems to indicate they're actively working on it and not finished.

I hope so. I’m cautiously optimistic that they’ll iron out the majority of problems. When they do, I’ll consider putting down some cash.
