You might remember all the way back in 2019 that the Switch version of the visual novel Song of Memories was cancelled. PQube made this announcement, saying that the project was called off due to ‘development complications.’ We all thought the game was dead then and there, but it appears the dev team kept working on the title in hopes of bringing it to Switch. Now we know their efforts were worth it!

Future Tech Lab, the team behind Song of Memories, have confirmed that development continued on the Switch version, and everything is going extremely well. In fact, one member of the dev team has stated that the Switch port is running ‘flawlessly’ on a Switch dev kit.

While we don’t have a release date at this time, it’s nice to know that Song of Memories will indeed see Switch release. We’re not sure if PQube will swoop in for publishing rights once again, but that doesn’t matter too much. You’ll still be able to snag Song of Memories on the Switch eShop in Japan, as that version will include Japanese, English, French, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) translations.
