Harvestella is Square Enix’s take on the farm game crazy right now, albeit with a lot of JRPG influence. While reviews haven’t been stellar, they aren’t bad either. It seems there’s a lot of room for improvement, and apparently the game’s director agrees.

In an interview with Twinfinite, Harvestella producer Daisuke Taka opened up about his desire to create more installments in the Harvestella series. Of course, we don’t know if that’ll happen, but hopefully this debut outing sells well enough to warrant future titles.

There’s still lots that we have not yet been able to accomplish. However, if we try to create everything in the first title, the foundations of the game become unclear. Once it becomes a series, we’d like to keep adding more exciting features using the engaging foundations of the basic system.

I enjoyed Harvestella a lot. But my only complaint is that it would be so much more fun if there were more life sim mechanics such as socializing and marriage. I hope we do get a sequel because the game was just amazing; only lacking in some areas that the target audience enjoys.
