The Super Mario Bros. movie is no stranger to delays, as it was originally slated to launch sometime in 2022. That hasn’t been the case for awhile now, but today we’ve learned that our friends in Australia will have to wait even longer to see the movie debut.

While we don’t have an explanation for the delay, we do know that The Super Mario Bros. movie has been pushed from March 30th, 2023 to April 5th, 2023 in Australia. No other regions appear to be hit with delays, so hopefully the release calendar stays in tact for the rest of the world.

Even with Australia’s one-week delay, they’ll still be getting the film considerably earlier than many other parts of the world.

Maybe it's to do with some of the obstacles that Mario has to overcome in the Land Down Under. 🦘 If you've ever played a Mario level with upside down aspects, you know they take a little longer to finish.

That way they get to read and watch everyone's overly terrible or super favorable reviews before they actually go see it. I'm not sure it's a good thing really. I'm planning to see it without having read anything online beforehand. It's actually a good way to proceed. I've done that with the recent star wars movies and series and god did it help to make these better in my eyes at least.
