Super Smash Brothers Ultimate has one of the biggest rosters in fighting game history, but for some players it’s still not enough! Lucky for them, there’s no shortage of modders who are willing to add new characters to the game themselves. The latest addition is that of Ghirahim, the villain from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

The Ghirahim mod was created by Shinoda11 and uses the in-game fighter Sephiroth as the basis for his attacks. While this does mean he plays as a replica of Sephiroth’s moves and stats, the mod also includes custom voice clips from Hyrule Warriors in order to better suit Ghirahim’s style. More updates to differentiate him could be on the way as well.

Zelda characters have been a welcome addition to Smash Bros. by most fans, but it doesn’t seem like we’ll be getting to play as Ghirahim or any other Skyward Sword characters any time soon. For now, mods like this one are the best we’ve got. Click here for more info.

…this is the first Smash mod I’ve heard of that is actually tempting! Unfortunately, the fact that it’s basically a Sephiroth clone makes it less exciting. The only serious complaint I have with Ultimate’s roster is not enough Zelda characters!
I think it’s truly shameful that we have less Legend of Zelda characters than Pokémon and Fire Emblem…and half the series’ characters are different versions of Link! Hyrule Warriors showed that virtually any Zelda character can have a unique move set.

There's definitely way too many Fire Emblem characters in the game. Singling out a few characters from the Zelda universe would be tough to decide though, for me at least. I've no interest in the Pokémon characters either. The roster is full of characters who don't deserve a spot, especially 3rd party wise.
