The race was a tight one, but the numbers have been crunched and we have an answer as to what hardware came out on top in the U.S. for 2022. Turns out even after 5+ years, the Switch still had another first place victory in it!
According to the latest NPD data, the Switch came out as the best-selling hardware in the United States in terms of units sold. We don’t have an exact number to share, but we do know that sales between Switch and PS5 for the year were quite close. Looks like the holiday sales for Switch were strong enough to keep it ahead of PS5’s pace.
In terms of dollars made, the PS5 took first place in that category. That’s not surprising at all, considering how much more expensive the PS5 is than Switch.
