Some Nintendo fans have been wondering if Nintendo is going to share a Nintendo Direct in the near future. Nintendo traditionally has some sort of Direct in/around February, and Feb. 2023 is right around the corner. While fans were simply throwing the idea out there the last few weeks, today brings us something a little juicier.

The Nintendo diehards over at Famiboards have been keeping an eye on Nintendo’s website, and they’ve noticed that the metadata for select Switch games has been updated. In particular, both The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp have received NSUIDs. A game usually gets an NSUID when pre-orders are about to go live.

With this being the case, fans are thinking Nintendo is gearing up for a Nintendo Direct that will share details on these games, and then pre-orders will go live. We already know when Tears of the Kingdom is coming out, but seeing potential rumblings about Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp could mean this title’s long delay might be ending soon.

Along with that, Amazon Mexico has just added Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp back to their website. The game is up for pre-order once again, although there’s no release date shown. It’s important to note that Amazon Mexico removed Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp from their listings back in March 2022, so it returning now would certainly seem to indicate something is up.

Of course, this is all just speculation, but fans have been spot-on with this kind of stuff before. All we can do now is sit tight and hope the Big N makes an announcement!

Not to get all (geo)political, but given the talk that fighting will get more intense in Ukraine come Spring, I was afraid the delay would only continue. Clinging to hope this is the real deal. And for peace in Ukraine—may war be consigned to war games.

Direct coming in the next two weeks I’d say. Show more TOTK and officially reveal the TOTK OLED model and open preorders of both.

I look forward to another round of Nintendo goodness. I expect the Direct will focus on TOTK, with a brief update on Advance Wars. I think Nintendo’s uptick in ‘23 Switch production is for the new TOTK OLED. I also think this will be the last push for the console before a new system is announced, whatever that looks like. Honestly though, I love my Switch and will be quite smitten with it for years to come.
