Unsurprising people double-dipped. Same thing happened with the DS and 3DS. I got an OLED and game my original Switch to my sister.

@kuribo

The DS and the 3DS were two completely different systems, a generation apart. It's more like owning a 3DS and a 3DS XL.

I only bought an OLED because my Launch Switch stopped charging, even after replacing the battery.

Im pretty sure they meant that the same thing happened to both the DS and 3DS, with the DS lite / DS i and then 3DS XL / new 3DS.

It was peak Switch Pro rumor time, and I was waiting to buy something! Yes the OLED was disappointing, but also if you had a 4/5yr old launch Switch, it was still a nice upgrade as you got a longer lasting battery and bigger/better screen.

I meant people double dipped with multiple DS systems and double dipped with multiple 3DS systems.

I would have too if transferring the (save) data from one system to another wasn't such a bother.

Oh, I gotcha. My bad.

Same here. My wife and I would each have our own Switch if transferring her account wouldn't ruin our Animal Crossing island. But because Nintendo got really specific and nitpicky with save data on particular games, it makes owning and enjoying multiple Switches a nuisance.
