Nintendo has shared 10 minutes of gameplay for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, finally giving us a closer look at the familiar world of Hyrule we’ll be exploring; one that has greatly changed since the events of Breath of the Wild. Check out the presentation above, hosted by series producer, Eiji Aonuma.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches for Nintendo Switch on May 12th, 2023. You can sift through some new screens for the title in the gallery below.

As if I needed to be sold anymore on this game. It looks fantastic.

Now I am finally sold on this one. Looks way better than I thought. Just hope they don't overuse the "jump-through-ceiling" mechanic. Part of the magic with BOTW was the journey itself, finding ways to get around.

Apart from that this looks amazing! Now I'll wait for the game instead of reading more about it.... Yeah it's close to impossible I know, but these 10 minutes showed just enough, so I'll have to do my best! =)

At first I was disappointed to see the same old Hyrule on the surface, but it looks like the sky islands might provide the exploration and discovery I'm hoping for. It does look really good, and it seems like they've taken things people wanted to do in the original and made them possible and even essential in this sequel.

Indeed these game mechanics are looking awesome ^-^ With stuff like this it'd be incredible to see the gameplay and story teaming up.

Honestly that didn't excite me very much. I'm sure there will be a lot of interesting gameplay to come from those powers but the abilities aren't what made me love the last game. I want to know more about the world itself, not how I'll traverse it. I know that sense of discovery is being saved for the player once they get the game in their hands so I can't blame Nintendo for keeping quiet about it. I'm absolutely going to play the game but this showcase did nothing to change my level of anticipation.

The fuse and ultrahand mechanics are enough to build a whole game around, even if this wasn’t also a major game sequel. Pretty much exactly the kind of systemic innovation I was hoping to see.

But…someone has to say it…people are gonna build d***s. So many d***s. Gonna fly a d*** into Ganon’s face. They’ll speedrun d***%. The Legend of Zelda: D***s of the Kingdom. Should have delayed the game to June 9th.

As somebody who isn't very creative, i hope the creation mechanic isn't a huge part of the game. That being said, I have already taken off work for this game.
