UK software sales for the week ending April 15th, 2023 show major Mario momentum

It’s Monday, which means it’s once again time to check in on the software sales over in the United Kingdom. We’ve got the top 40 for the week ending April 15th, 2023, which you can see in full below.

If you’ve been wondering why Nintendo has taken a very serious step forward into the movie business, this week’s UK charts show one big reason why. Multiple Switch games starring Mario have jumped up the charts, and in considerable fashion. Without a doubt, the Super Mario Bros. movie is pushing people to game stores after the credits roll.

• Mario Kart 8 Deluxe jumped up 2 places following a 9% increase in sales week-on-week
• this is the third week a row where sales rose for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
• Super Mario Odyssey jumped five places after a 15% sales improvement
• New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe is up seven places to No.10 after a 23% sales increase
• Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is at No.13 after a 21% sales rise
• Mario Party Superstars is at No.20 with a small 3% uptick
• Mario Strikers: Battle League Football spiked 111% and re-enters the charts at No.30
• Luigi’s Mansion 3 is back at No.40 with a 7% sales rise
• Mario + Rabbids games are also in the Top 40 (Sparks of Hope at No.27 and Kingdom Battle at No.32).
