Back in February, we learned that Persona 5 Royal had sold 1.3 million units worldwide by the end of 2022. If you’ve been wondering how the game’s been doing since that last tally, we have a great update to share with you.

SEGA has shared their latest round of financial information, and it includes an updated sales figure for Persona 5 Royal. For the fiscal year ending March 2023, the game now sits at 1.7 million units worldwide. That’s a combined total across all platforms, meaning the game has moved another 400k units since 2022 wrapped.

Persona 5 Royal is an award-winning RPG experience featuring a treasure trove of downloadable content included. Forced to transfer to a high school in Tokyo, the protagonist has a strange dream. “You truly are a prisoner of fate. In the near future, ruin awaits you.” With the goal of “rehabilitation” looming overhead, he must save others from distorted desires by donning the mask of a Phantom Thief.

You can pick up Persona 5 Royal either digitally or physically on the Switch for $60.

I have been having an insanely hard time not getting this game. Maybe I should just go for it now because I'll get there eventually anyway.

I found a cheap used copy and ordered it. Farewell social life, I guess! =)
