The next entry in the long-running Momotaro Dentetsu series has been announced.

During today’s Japanese Nintendo Direct, Konami revealed Momotaro Dentetsu: The Earth Spins With Hope. This title will see release on Switch in Japan later in 2023. You can see the debut trailer above.

Momotaro Dentetsu: The Earth Spins With Hope, which is directed and designed by Shoji Masuda, and executive produced by Akira Sakuma, is a new take on the Momtaro Dentesu experience.

Momotaro Dentetsu: The Earth Spins With Hope marks the first time in the series that the game can be played on a spherical map of Earth. Rather than a flat surface like previous games, the world map appears as a globe, allowing players to enjoy the game with a three-dimensional sense of the location and distance between countries and regions.

Of course, elements unique to Momotaro Dentetsu, such as properties and characters from all over the world, will appear with a world-class increase in volume. New events set across the world and numerous historical heroes await all over the Earth.

They finally fired the flat Earther from their staff then.

Anyway, I really wish they'd bring back the Densetsu series. I know Japan loves this sub-franchise, but I miss the quirky platformer it was spun from.
