When it comes to videogames, Nintendo has over 40 years of hardware and software under their belt. While they continue to craft brand new experiences to this day, they have no intention of forgetting where they came from.

Nintendo just held their 84th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, and with it came a question and answer session. One of the questions pertained to Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition and Nintendo’s efforts to keep older platforms and games alive.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa opened up on the company’s efforts with not just Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, but also why Nintendo creates such products. You can see his answer in full below.
