Square Enix Music has been sharing a decent amount of covers lately, and that trend continues with yet another video. In the clip above, you can hear a piano cover of “A Place to Call Home” from Final Fantasy IX, which was composed by Nobuo Uematsu and is performed here by Shuto Nakagawa.

Selling over five million copies since its release in 2000, FINAL FANTASY IX follows Zidane and the Tantalus Theater Troupe, who have kidnapped Princess Garnet, the heir of Alexandria. To their surprise, however, the princess herself yearned to escape the castle. Through a series of unusual circumstances, she and her personal guard, Steiner, fall in with Zidane and set out on an incredible journey. Meeting unforgettable characters like Vivi and Quina along the way, they learn about themselves, the secrets of the Crystal, and a malevolent force that threatens to destroy their world.

The above version of A Place to Call Home from Final Fantasy IX was both recorded and mixed by Junichiro ”ojjy” Ojima, and the recording session itself was held at FREEDOM STUDIO INFINITY.
