Zenless Zone Zero is an all-new 3D action game from HoYoverse/miHoYo that takes place in a near future, where the world plagued by a mysterious disaster known as “Hollows.” A new kind of city has emerged in this disaster-ridden world — New Eridu. This last oasis has mastered the technology to co-exist with Hollows and is home to a whole host of chaotic, boisterous, dangerous, and very active factions. As a professional Proxy, you play a crucial role in linking the city and the Hollows.

All of the games from HoYoverse/miHoYo have been incredible hits so far, with both Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail reaching millions upon millions of players. Neither of those titles have made it to Switch, and that’s despite a pledge from the developers to bring Genshin Impact to Switch years ago. Since that never happened and there hasn’t been a peep about Honkai Star Rail coming over, Zenless Zone Zero seems like an impossibility at this point…at least for the Switch.

We all know that the Switch’s successor is in the works, and with that comes new hardware, better specs, and fresh opportunities. While making Zenless Zone Zero work on Switch would likely be a technical challenge, things should be much easier to tackle on a Switch successor. Does that mean we could see ZZZ hop over to Nintendo’s next hardware? Famitsu spoke to ZZZ Producer Zhenyu Li to find out.

You can see what Li had to say below, courtesy of a translation from Nintendo Everything.

“Currently our highest priority is increasing the quality regarding the platforms that we plan to work with. As we continue the development process, we think we will find the possibilities for this. Of course, there is an assumption it will be made into an excellent experience, and as a personal fan of Nintendo I will be very happy to see that become a reality.”
