While Nintendo is a household name in much of the world, there are places where the company doesn’t have much of a presence. That includes India, but apparently Nintendo is ready to change that.

According to games analyst Rishi Alwani, Nintendo is looking very closely at moving into the games market in India. Nintendo has supposedly sent staff to familiarize themselves with Mumbai, but no specifics on deals discussed or progress made have been shared.

Alwani went on to say that Nintendo was supposedly concerned about the Bureau of Indian Standards, as the organization could end up revealing Nintendo’s factories. This along with high import taxes have caused Nintendo a bit of trepidation when it comes to India. Nevertheless, it seems Nintendo has worked out those concerns and are moving ahead.
